Second Six Weeks in Review

Man, I can't believe another six weeks is coming to a close and I haven't updated the blog. It's been another busy month for the Hadleys. The first weekend of October, Brian took John, Jude and Jonah to the Houston Zoo to hang out with the Keasler Family. Unfortunately James and I couldn't attend because we had a workshop to go to at church that morning. The following weekend we attended the Cravin kids' birthday party at the Children's Museum of Houston. All of the kids had a BLAST!!! They've changed up the museum so much since the last time I was there. The boys definitely want to go again. After the party ended, we headed out to Dewberry Farm with my parents and sister. The kids had a blast in the maze, on the roller slides and seeing all the animals. They also had a great time on the hayride and picking pumpkins. You could really see the effects of the drought while we were there. The hay stack was smaller than normal this year and they had no home grown pumpkins like in years past. They had to bring in every single pumpkin they sold this year.

The next weekend, Brian and I took the older boys to the Texas Renaissance Festival and were joined by Poppa Mike, Mimi and Aunt Sarah. The boys were the PERFECT age to really enjoy the festival. They got their faces painted and enjoyed all the shows we watched. They also got to ride and ELEPHANT!!!! We left there that day with wooden swords and shields. The month ended with a great Halloween weekend. We carved pumpkins with Kristen's family Sunday night after dinner and then we all went Trick or Treating together Monday night.

School activities for the month were also lots of fun! John went on two field trips - one to our neighborhood fire station and the other to Dewberry Farm. He had a great time on both class trips. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend because sibling weren't allowed. Both boys participated in field day the last week of the month. I think I preferred the indoor field day Kindergarten had as opposed to the more traditional outdoor field day James had. While Jude and Jonah had a blast playing outside, I did not enjoy having to wash clothes and give baths after we got home.
