Cub Scout Fall Campout

This past weekend Brian and James attended their very first cub scout camping trip. The entire pack went to Huntsville State Park - which is our favorite state park - for the weekend. Brian brought along his father's telescope in the hopes of earning the Astronomy belt loop over the weekend. As it turns out a ton of the boys were interested and he had over 20 kids along with their families come take a look at Jupiter and Jupiter's moons. It was a HUGE success and I'm so glad Brian had the idea. The boys also participated in a community service project. They raked up a bunch of debris from the banks of the lake in the park. James and Brian also went canoeing on Saturday. All in all, it was a fun weekend for the two of them. I'm hoping John and I can join them on the camping trip in the spring. Here are the photos Brian took.
